Super Glyph Quest App Reviews

Just one thing

Once you get the last pouch upgrade, it seems theres a small problem. After opening the pouch during battle, you cant close it or even use your items. Could you fix that? Thats really my only quip. (And PLEASE fix it, because I really love this game!!)

Fun but still bugged

There is still a bug that prevents me from choosing anything in my inventory. And once the pack is pulled up it wont close, blocking the glyph board. It makes the app unplayable for now. Fix this and Ill give it 5 stars again.

Great game

This game is a fun take on the classic matching puzzle game. Tons of fun and totally worth a try.

Hard and not in a fun way

Its a current trend right now that if a game is hard, it means that it is high quality. That is not the case here as this game is certainly hard, but the fun factor is not there. It is not fun to be stunlocked or glyphlocked until you lose. It is not fun to suffer a status effect, use an item to cure that effect, and immediately get that exact status effect again and again. It is not fun to feel constantly underpowered. It is not fun to grind crappy monsters for long periods of time. The game is just not fun.

An amazing game

One of the best iOS games Ive ever played. Great for a quick play or hours on end. Seriously... Awesome devs.

Grear Game but buggy.

i like how challenging this game is without the IAPs. but still a little buggy i think. like how experience you get is not reflected on whats added after the battle. like the amount added to my exp bar is the same when i get 200exp and 1,500exp. waste of time and resources. fix it and ill update this to five.

Trust me. Youll dig it.

I avoid match 3 games for the most part--theyre the same boring stuff over and over. I gave this game a shot because it promised to be more than just a match 3--and it delivers! The graphics are adorable. The gameplay is smooth. Theres no long, irritating tutorial to treat you like you just fell off the gaming turnip truck, but theres enough instruction to get you going. And whoever did the writing: thumbs up! The flavor text, dialogue, descriptions, and quest names are all the kind of tongue-in-cheek stuff I love as a gamer. This was well worth the $.99. I even wished there were some in-app purchases available so I could further support this developer. Thanks for a fun game--well done! Re: complaints its "too hard:" its really only too hard too fast if your gaming style is "go like gangbusters and get to the top as fast as humanly possible." So yeah, munchkins and twinks and people who only ever play tanks are going to have something of a slog, because you advance faster than you level, if thats your play style. If the point of a game is to enjoy yourself while playing it? Advancement and leveling stay fairly balanced. You may have to pay attention to leveling at certain points of the game, but thats not a flaw IMO. It helps make the game more playable for people whose play style is not limited to "big man smash things fast as can rawr!"

Even More 5-Starry Than The Original

The entire map-based interface dramatically increases the options of what to do when, and makes it a lot easier to recover when you go broke. Great work, and I look forward to other content, even if it costs another buck or two.

great game

great game you have to play it

Super

matching rpg puzzle gem that has a ton of content and great graphics. The gameplay is fun, challenging, and innovative. Get this.

Love This Game!!!

My husband and I love this game! We only have one iPad so we play this game together, developing the abilities of the same character depending on who has the iPad at the moment (we let each other know when we have new abilities or if we make any discoveries). It’s a perfect game to pick up and put down anytime since it’s turn based and the battles can easily be re-fought if necessary (though it’s really hard to put down when you have a good battle going!). The dialogue is fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously and I like how the game and your skills unfold as you level up. Our toddler likes using the iPad too and sometimes she’ll pick this app because she sees how much we enjoy it (mostly she’ll just use every thing in the pack because she likes seeing the graphics work and then she’ll spend all of our money, but I like that it just extends the game for us!). I also appreciate that there are no in-app purchases. Challenging and super fun, I hope they keep adding more stories and levels!

Game is SO unbalanced - time to delete

There are many quests where the monsters keeps calling in more and you cannot beat them fast enough before one of them calls in another. I spent almost 20 mins fighting one wave of monsters because of this and just gave up. And it happens enough now to be super annoying and a waste of time to stay in the same round for 15 or 20 minutes and make no progress and waste items.

This game is spectacular

Bought this because it has the characters from monument valley and Im so glad I did. Great story, amazing gameplay, I cant put it down. My only complaint is not being able to change the skin tone of my character. Other than that, I cant wait to see whats in store.

Really lovely, but needs tweaking

I have to concur with other reviewers who have said that the game needs balancing. There are far too many moments where I am unable to progress, too many play sessions ending because Im stuck and having the opposite of fun. The gameplay in those moments are frustrating because monsters keep calling new monsters in what feels like an endless, unwinable battle. I run out of healing potions quickly; they are too expensive to replace without a lot more gameplay on way-too-easy levels. I would at least like to see some kind of monster counter during a match to let me know how many foes I am up against, so that, if I see that its hopeless, I dont waste potions. That said, I love the aesthetic of the game, and the gameplay itself has great potential. Discovering new spells and new monsters is a great feature, and the dialogue is charming. Im sorry that I cant give it more stars right now, but the frustrations inherent in the games imbalance keep me on the verge of deleting.

Worth the Money

This sequel to the original Glyph Quest (also super fun) is everything a sequel should be. The cute art, amusing writing, unique spells, and match-3 gameplay are all present and expanded upon. All the cameos from other games are handled well and dont break the feel of the game while still alluding to their games. I do admit that the game is quite grindy at times, maybe depending on what level up traits you pick, hence the 4 stars. But given how many fans felt the original was too easy (although it was quite difficult to me) Im not surprised. The ability to do side quests and redo areas to grind helps with that though.

Spectacular!

This has nice gameplay, and a simple but enjoyable plot. Although the bone-bird things are annoying in their regenerative power, Im willing to overlook that. Because of the Hatoful Boyfriend cameo. Just, so yes.
